The material of the Auto Filter Element is glass fiber reinforced PP (polypropylene). This material is a common engineering plastic. By adding glass fiber (GF) to ordinary polypropylene (PP) for reinforcement, its mechanical properties and durability are significantly improved.
Polypropylene (PP) is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant, easy-to-process thermoplastic plastic widely used in the manufacture of automotive parts. Glass fiber reinforcement further improves the strength, rigidity and heat resistance of the material, making it more suitable for parts that need to withstand certain pressure or temperature changes.
Therefore, the filter element housing is made of glass fiber reinforced PP material, which not only has good molding performance, but also can meet the strength requirements and environmental adaptability of the car filter in actual use.
Is the car filter element suitable for high or low temperature environments?
The car filter element is suitable for high or low temperature environments. This is mainly due to the excellent performance of the glass fiber reinforced PP material used:
(1) Good temperature resistance
The temperature resistance range of glass fiber reinforced PP is usually between -20°C and 120°C, which means that it can maintain stable physical properties over a wide temperature range. During the operation of the car, the temperature in the engine compartment may be high, while the ambient temperature in winter or at night may be low, so the filter housing needs to maintain structural integrity under these extreme conditions.
(2) Strong impact resistance
The addition of glass fiber significantly improves the impact resistance of the material, making it less likely to break when subjected to external impact or vibration, thereby improving the durability and safety of the product.
(3) Chemical corrosion resistance
PP material itself has good chemical corrosion resistance and can resist erosion by common automotive fluids such as oil and coolant, extending the service life of the filter element.
(4) Good dimensional stability
During the injection molding process, the shrinkage rate of glass fiber reinforced PP is low, which helps to ensure the dimensional stability of the product at different ambient temperatures and avoid deformation or assembly problems caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
(5) Lightweight and cost-effectiveness
Despite its good performance, glass fiber reinforced PP is still a lightweight material that helps reduce the weight of the vehicle. At the same time, its processing cost is relatively low and suitable for large-scale production.
The filter element housing of the automotive filter is made of glass fiber reinforced PP, which has good temperature resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability, making it suitable for high or low temperature environments and meeting the use requirements of automotive filters under complex working conditions.
